Renton Chiropractic is excited to get to know you. For your first visit, plan a 45-minute appointment time that includes an exam (orthopedic testing) and adjustment. X-rays are only taken if warranted by your condition. Future visits will usually be approximately 15 minutes. If you have a co-pay due we will collect it when you check in. Orthopedic testing is a physical examination and diagnostic process used to assess the function of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles.

Key Components of Orthopedic Testing include:

• Patient history: Reviewing past injuries, medical conditions, and current pain symptoms.
• Visual inspection: Checking for swelling, bruising, deformities, and posture issues.
• Palpation: Pressing on the affected area to feel for warmth, tenderness, or abnormal growths.
• Range of motion (ROM): Measuring how far a joint can move actively and passively.
• Strength and neurological tests: Evaluating muscle power, reflexes, and nerve sensitivity.
• Special physical maneuvers: Performing specific movements or stress tests to pinpoint areas of discomfort.
